About
My Story
I wasn’t always interested in gardening, as a kid, I recall countless weekends when my dad made me help with various garden projects. We Installed pavers, trimmed palm tree fronds, threw out old junk, and battled the never-ending leaf debris in the pool. The dreaded green waste collection days felt like an eternity as we piled up trimmings for verge collection.
Looking back at old pictures of my childhood home, I discovered that we had a beautiful garden. I can appreciate it now, but at the time, I hardly paid any attention to it. The lush tropical look caught my eye, probably because I had always lived in a dry, arid environment. I enjoy forests with their canopies overhead, and this would inspire me for my future gardening projects.
My journey into gardening began a few years ago when I decided to renovate my barren backyard. A weed mat covered in dirt characterized the entire back garden, and the uninspiring picture was completed by a an expanse of synthetic green ground, which seemed more suited to a playground than a garden. To breathe new life into the space, I began introducing an array of plants.
I found I enjoyed the process of picking plants and working out where they would go. It was fulfilling to watch the plants develop and how the whole look of the garden evolved over time. I invested a lot of time and effort and eventually, that once-bare backyard became my very own garden.
Gardening has now become an important part of my life, bringing me excitement, peace, and satisfaction. Looking ahead, I am eager to explore new ways to immerse myself in this passion and continue to spend time cultivating green spaces and being in nature.
